About the event

In this second camp-out as part of the C4RE (Caring 4 Refuge Ecology) partnership between Ecology Group and Queensland Trust for Nature we will be counting everything furry.  Australian mammals are unique, diverse and experiencing one of the most rapid rates of decline in the world.

This year we are surveying QTFN's own Aroona Station - a flagship cattle and conservation enterprise snuggled up at the end of the Little Liverpool Range.  The site is only accessible by invitation, and is a vital refuge for Brush-tail Rock Wallabies, Koalas, threatened granite-belt plants like the Bailey's Cypress Pine and threatened semi-evergreen dry rainforest.

Come along in the daylight for activities led by experts ranging from koala surveys and guided hikes to see the elusive Brush-tailed Rock Wallaby, to camera trapping and spotlighting.  Then pitch your tent and camp out under the beautiful open skies of the Little Liverpool Range by night, hanging out by the fire enjoying a fully catered farm dinner.

This event is open to everyone from expert to amateur.  This is a family and LGBTQI+ friendly event.
